A day in Kuala Lumpur
The best start of the day is to begin with a nice massage at the Tropical Spa at Jalan Tengkat Tong Shin, just off Jalan Bukit Bintang http://thetropicalspa.com.my/. It looks very clean and hygienic. The prices are good, and above all, the massages and the chairs are very comfortable. Relaxed enough? Time to fill that belly with some Vietnamese food from next door. A little to the right from the Spa you will find Sao Nam Restaurant at Tengkat Tong Shin 25 http://www.saonam.com.my/. Recommendation: start with the shrimp summer rolls. Beauty for the eye and a delight for the mouth. All stuffed? Time to go!
From here it’s a nice walk to China Town and not too far. Wander around a little bit in the lanterns covered market streets. If you need souvenirs, this is the place! It’s some kind of a challenge but who knows you will find your perfect fake Mulberry purse right here.
Now we’re heading for the Kuala Lumpur eye catcher: The Petronas Towers.
It’s quite a stroll but doable. Find your way with the CityMapstoGo app along the Menara Kuala Lumpur tower to Helipad @ Heli Lounge & Bar (check Tripadvisor or Facebook). Here you can buy yourself a nice glass of wine which also counts as your entree fee to the rooftop. During the day this roof is a helicopter platform but in the afternoon is transforms into a restaurant/bar. Make sure you’re there around sunset, it’s a marvelous view when the Petronas Towers light up when the world around us turns dark.
Starting to become hungry again? Head back to where you began today, Jalan Bukit Bintang. During the day this is a busy car street but when you come back in the evening it’s a huge terrace full of restaurants with tables and chairs where you can eat delicious chicken satay and drink big bottles of beer. Yummy!
Other diner options are Havana bar&grill http://havanakl.com/, very near to Jalan Bukit Bintang. Or if you want something more fancy you can go to Fuego At Troika Sky Dining http://www.troikaskydining.com/fuego/ nearby the Petronas Towers. Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance.
Another day in Kuala Lumpur?
Mr.Viji is a very nice gentleman who is known by all KLM crew (check Tripsadvisor). First he will drive you to the Batu Caves to have some lunch and gain some strength for those stairs waiting. Don’t expect too much, it’s Indian naan with some dips. Very tasteful though!
Then you climb up all the stairs yourself and walk around the Batu Caves. Watch out for the monkeys running around, they’re cheeky little fellas.
After the caves Mr.Viji will bring you to the lighthouse up a hill and you can play around with the nice monkeys, the polite ones.
Hopefully you will arrive at the Hindu temple just in time for prayers. It’s a beautiful designed temple where they pray in presence of the sacred cow. After this you will be going to the last stop: watching fire flies. A little rowing boat will take you up the river and the kind men on these boats make a round so you are able to see the starry night made out of shiny fire flies. Magical!
