A day or two in Singapore

Let’s start the day spectacular and head to Singapore’s extraordinary eye catcher:
Marina Bay Sands hotel.
It’s a luxurious resort in Marina Bay where you can take the elevator to the 57th floor, which you can’t really call a rooftop, it’s more a boattop..? As you can see in the photos below.
Just walk to the couches near to the pool, order a cappuccino and enjoy the view!

For breakfast we recommend to go to one of the Kith cafes (http://kith.com.sg/) in town. It’s a an easy menu but delicious and a lot of food. We like!

Time for shopping as Singapore as Singapore is a shopping Walhalla? Bring your wallet and head to Orchard Road!

Got hungry from shopping? Try Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle. It looks like a regular food stall, but don’t be fooled. This little stall actually has a Michelin star. This fact makes that you probably have to wait in line for a few hours, but the result it worth it! Michelins stars don’t lie.

Food, food, food. Big breakfast, Michelin lunch. Time to work out a little. Singapore has on of the most beautiful Botanic Gardens I have ever visited. You can walk there, take public transport or my tip, just order an Uber. Taxis in Singapore aren’t that expensive!
So you can just walk around the gardens if you like, don’t forget to spend some time around the lake and keep your eyes open. There’s very big fish in the lake, swans swim around, turtles playing and some sort of dragon animals come to the surface now and then.
If you’re enjoying flora & fauna you can also head to the National Orchard Garden (SPD$5) to see a huge variety of flowers and plants. I think it’s worth it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chill, the surrounding is beautiful and relaxing. Enjoy some time in nature instead of Singapore’s concrete jungle.

After this long stroll, you can walk to Harding Road, using your Citymaps2go application. On this street there’s multiple nice cafes and restaurants. I personally recommend PScafe on number 28B (http://www.pscafe.com/). They have a good menu for diner, but don’t overeat as you have to make sure you leave some room for desert. Oh my god, they make the best cakes in town! Walk over to the bar and have a good look which cake they can reserve for you.

Other option on this road is The White Rabbit (http://www.thewhiterabbit.com.sg/). This restaurant is housed in the Ebenezer chapel. Imagine the architecture here! Very cool.

Now it’s time to party! Take a taxi and ask the taxi driver to bring you to 1-altitude( http://www.1-altitude.com/). Here you will take an elevator again which brings you to, if I remember correctly, the 63th floor. Bring your earplugs cause Singaporeans like loud music! Head outside and enjoy the highest rooftop of Singapore with a magnificent view on the Marina Bay Sands hotel. The whole city lights up like a starry night. It’s very cool. But! Very expensive as well, so maybe just have one drink while enjoying the view. After this you can go to Club Street which is full of nice bars and rooftops as well, Screening Room for example (http://www.screeningroom.com.sg/).
Other options for shops and bars in Haji Lane, Keong Road in Chinatown, Duxton Hill and Clark Quay and club Kyo.

Another day in Singapore?

Singapore has a lot to offer, and as you have been doing a lot of stuff yesterday today it’s time to relax! Tanjong Beach is perfect for this. You can go to the beach club itself (http://www.tanjongbeachclub.com/) , sip some rose in the infinity pool and again, don’t forget to bring your wallet. Or don’t bring your wallet and just your towel, a good book and some lunch and hang around the beach next to the club. Although, you should bring your wallet to rent a sub board! Kind of cool to peddle along the beach in Singapore. Maybe share an hour rent (SPD$40).

Lau Pa Sat is a big market in Singapore. It blends history, architecture and local food. The busy street in front during the day will be closed in the evening so that the market can expend and serve food and beer on the streets. Don’t forget to order the chicken satay, also here it’s delicious again, ask for some extra sauce, cause I can reassure it will be finished before the satay’s are done.
